People always ask me how I seem to get interviews more often than not. I tell them its all about making an impression before you even get in the door. As a graphic designer, I have an entire personal brand—showcased here on my website. My cover letter has the same stationery as my resume and my business cards match. I even have a special folder that holds a rack card with some of my recent works and descriptions that I send out with a paper copy of my resume and cover letter in a special translucent envelope after I apply online to certain employers to really—well, get my foot in the door per say.
